Tantrāloka 38-40: yathā karṇau

38

यथा कर्णौ नर्तयामीत्येवं यत्नात्तथा भवेत् || 38 ||
yathā karṇau nartayāmītyevaṃ yatnāttathā bhavet || 38 ||
yathā karṇa ^au nRt +aya ^āmi iti evaṃ yatna ^āt tathā bhU +^et || 38 ||
how, in what way ear M dual nom|acc dance caus 1p sg thus in this way effort M|Ne sg abl thus, in that way bhU 3p sg optative 38
as ears I cause to dance so thus effortfully in that way one should become 38
With the kind of effort in which I cause my ears to dance, one should become like that 38

39.1

चक्रचारगताद्यत्नात्तद्वत्तच्चक्रगैव धीः |
cakracāragatādyatnāttadvattaccakragaiva dhīḥ |
cakra cāra gata ^āt yatna ^āt tadvat tat cakra ga eva dhī ḥ |
circle going went ]N M sg abl effort M sg abl likewise that Ne sg circle going only think ]N Masc sg nom
as one who passes through the centers went, in that way effortfully likewise that center just, exactly,alone he who meditates
as one who has unfolded the centers has gone, by striving in that way, likewise the meditator masters this center exactly so

39.2

जपहोमार्चनादीनां प्राणसाम्यमतो विधि: || 39 ||
japahomārcanādīnāṃ prāṇasāmyamato vidhi: || 39 ||
japa homa arcana ādi ināṃ prāṇa sāmya matah vidhi: || 39 ||
japa homa arca ana ādi ināṃ prāṇa sāmya man tah vidhi: || 39 ||
repetition fire worship -ing etc gen pl breath evenness mind pres 3p dual rule ]N 39
mantra repetition sacrificial fire worshipping etc of these the mind with evenness of breath worshipper (is) 39
the rule(-follower, worshipper) of mantra repetition, fire sacrifice and other rituals, is, exists in, the mental evenness of the two breaths 39

40.1

सिद्धामते कुण्डलिनीस्हक्तिः प्राणसमोन्मना |
siddhāmate kuṇḍalinīshaktiḥ prāṇasamonmanā |
siddh ā mat e kuṇḍalinī shakti ^iḥ prāṇa sama ut manā |
siddhā mat e kuṇḍala ^in ī sak ti ^iḥ prāṇa sama ut manas ^^ā |

in the mind of the perfected one she who is the coiled power equality of breath arises with the mind
she who is the coiled power rises in the perfected mind with equality of breath.

40.2

उक्तं च योगिनीकौले तदेतत्परमेशिना || 40 ||
uktaṃ ca yoginīkaule tadetatparameśinā || 40 ||
uktaṃ ca yoginī kaula ^e tad etat parama iśinā || 40 ||
vac -ta ṃ ca yuj +in ī kula + ^e tad etat parama iś in ā || 40 ||

so it is said and yogini, possessor of yoga in the secret tantra that (becomes) this by the possessor of the supreme desire 40
and so it is said, in yogini of the secret tantra that (merges with) this by means of possession of the highest desire. 40
