Site Excavation Scope: 1. Provide all labor, material, hand tools, equipment (including safety equipment), supervision, supplies, and other incidentals necessary to install the excavation work and perform all such work in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, addenda, and other documents that make up the contract documents but not limited to the following: a. Cut all excavated areas as specified to meet the foundation elevations. b. Over excavate beyond footing to allow working clearances needed to install foundations and walls. c. Provide means to retain unexcavated soil, slope wall, or bench step the excavation to prevent soil caveins. d. Use clean fill for all backfill. e. Backfill soils as specified to attain rough grade. f. Attain approval from project superintendent or building department before backfilling foundation walls. g. Place and spread fill dirt to attain proper grade as shown on the site drawings and specifications. h. Compact soils as required in the specifications. i. Install French drains as specified. 2. Limit fill depth in foundation pads to no more than 6-inch lifts. 3. Maintain structural fill in the building area to plus or minus 1/10 of a foot of the specified elevation. 4. Rough grade site, including swales, before structure is started. 5. Provide and maintain all erosion control (rip rap) required by governmental authorities having jurisdiction and as shown on the drawings, including grassing. 6. Take special care not to damage any trees designated to be saved by the project superintendent. Optional Scope Items: 7. Provide any surveying necessary to bring the site to the specified grades. 8. Protect the benchmarks and property lines set by the builder. 9. Protect all adjacent property from damage resulting from this work. 10. Include a minimum of three compaction tests for each building pad. Exclusions: 1. Fine grading (included in Site Landscape) 2. Excavation and backfill of utility trenches (included in Site Development) 3. Utility tap fees and impact fees (by builder)
